Addressing the root causes of autoimmunity is key to healing from it.

Healing needs a systematic, step-by-step approach where we take the time to understand what it is needed to heal from within. 

Embarking on a healing journey

I often equate the experience that my clients go through in my coaching programme to that of a “journey”. This helps them to mentally and emotionally prepare for it the way they need to.

Autoimmune conditions are complex and multifactorial in nature. It requires you to keep an open mind and have patience so that you travel at a pace that is comfortable for your body.

You need to take the time to prepare yourself for this journey. Otherwise, it will be difficult for you to continue on this path. The other important thing is to allow yourself to be guided by your body’s inner wisdom. This guidance is what you will need to create an environment for long term health creation.

This is the kind of approach that is necessary helpful when trying to create long term and sustainable health. And as you do so, you will find that your symptoms start disappearing over time. Maybe not all of them of course, but you will certainly notice visible improvements as you address underlying imbalances and deficiencies.

At war with our bodies

But first I want to address something that pains me when it comes to our approach towards many health issues.

Too often we are told that we need to

“fight” the infection

“kill” the cancer

“attack” the pathogen

An adversial approach to healing blinds us to the fact that we cannot separate our bodies from all these conditions/diseases. This means that if we are constantly in battle, then we are at war with our own bodies too! What if instead, we used a different language and had a gentler approach to defending our bodies?

This does not mean we would stop using antibiotics, antiviral medicines or follow any other treatments when necessary. It would simply mean that we address the root causes which would allow us to support our body’s immune system from the inside out.

I want you to pause here and think about this for a moment.

Think about how it would feel to stop fighting yourself, your body all the time.

How would it feel to start listening to your body instead?

Would you then find the energy to focus on all the things that you truly need to heal?

You may not get all the answers right away, but at least by asking the right questions you would start moving in the right direction!

A step-by-step journey towards healing and transformation

Following a step-by-step approach is the most effective in getting results in complex chronic health conditions. 

Dealing with any such conditions requires us to make changes in terms of our lifestyle, our diet and our mindset. As a result, the whole process can become really overwhelming.

To avoid this, you need to take a step-by-step process of healing. By doing this, it becomes much easier for them to start addressing the root causes of their disease.

Healthier choices requires making changes

Making sustainable changes that address the root causes are necessary for long term health. Most chronic diseases are a mismatch between our lifestyle choices, our environment, and the life experience that we want to have.

In order to get well and stay well, you need to make healthier choices every single day!

You need to connect to your own reasons for wanting to be healthy and be truly motivated to do whatever it takes to heal yourself.

This way you can move from feeling “deprived” and feel “empowered” or even “grateful” as you make certain choices. While these changes are not easy, a Health Coach can help you to do just that.

Your body is strong and reslient

This brings me to my final point.

No matter what health issues you are dealing with and what your diagnosis is, your body is strong and adaptive and has a natural state of wellness and vitality. 

At the root of autoimmune disease (or any other chronic disease) is poor nutrition, stress and toxins.

You already have what it takes to create better health by creating a positive, healing environment in your life. The good news is that this does not depend on what the external circumstances are in your life. Your body knows what to do, it just needs your support! When you start supporting your body, you can see the results almost right away.

By changing the way you think, the way you behave and the choices that you make you start reducing your symptoms one step at a time.
